David Cassidy On Oprah

Oprah had a full day with the appearance of all of the Cosby kids plus David Cassidy of Partridge Family fame on her show. Watch grown women lose their minds over David Cassidy, that's what happened and happens when he appears. He was a teen idol - now he's just an idol. To learn more about David Cassidy read his book, Could It Be Forever?: My Story by David Cassidy on Amazon. 384 pages long, this book covers all things Cassidy, taking you back to the Partridge Family and behind the scenes of one of America's most beloved shows.

In the early 1970s, when he was just 20 years old, David Cassidy achieved the sort of teen idol fame that is rarely seen. He was mobbed everywhere he went. His clothes were regularly ripped off by adoring fans. He sold records the world over. He was bigger than Elvis. And all thanks to a hit TV show called The Partridge Family. David Cassiday, in his own words, gives a brutally frank account of those mindblowing days of stardom in which being David Cassidy played second fiddle to being Keith Partridge. Including stories of sex, drugs, and rock'n'roll that explode the myth of Cassidy as squeaky clean, it is also the story of how to keep on living life and loving yourself when the fickle fans fall away. David Cassidy is also the author of C'mon, Get Happy: Fear and Loathing on the Partridge Family Bus.

100 Things To Do Before You Die

August 26, 2008 by admin

There is a great book out there that's been around since 1999 called 100 Things to Do Before You Die: Travel Events You Just Can't Miss

It starts out by telling us about the Iditarod Sled Dog Race that takes place every first Saturday in March in Alaska. Every year, adventurers come to take on the bitter cold weather and toughest conditions to race with their dogs from Anchorage to Nome, Alaska. It is known as "The Last Great Race onEarth" and the race covers 1150 miles to Nome.

Mushers begin their race with a team of 16 dogs that stretch out 80 feet from the leader dog's nose back to the musher on the sled. That's about the length of an eighteen-whell truck. As soon as the musher calls "hike, okay!" and not "Mush" like it's portrayed in Hollywood movies, the dogs take off and the race is on.

This is just the first thing covered in 100 Things to Do Before You Die, a book that is both a joy to read and incredibly informative about the oddest things on earth.

This book takes you out of your comfort zone for the time of your life.

"This life is a short journey," Freeman and Teplica observe in this unusual travel guide. "How can you make sure you fill it with the most fun and that you visit all the coolest places on earth before you pack those bags for the very last time?" Then these authors--both new media travel entrepreneurs--give suggestions for how to do so, in a modest listing of 100 of the world's wondrous events. Ranging from the participatory to the sedate, their list includes the Iditarod Sled Dog Race in Alaska; the Pageant of the Masters in Southern California; Mardi Gras in New Orleans; the World Cow Chip Throwing Championship in Beaver, Oklahoma; Carnival in Brazil; Bastille Day and the Cannes Film Festival in France; Oktoberfest in Germany; the Running of the Bulls in Spain; Yom Kippur at Israel's Western Wall; the Pushkar Camel Fair in India; the Sapporo Snow Festival in Japan; and Australia's Nude Night Surfing Contest. For each event they provide detailed explanations and specifics on how to get there, where to stay, what to eat, and how to find out more on the web. Recommended for large public libraries and libraries with extensive travel collections.

Review: “O” performed by Cirque Du Soleil

"O" by Cirque Du Soleil is a wonderful album that has maintained its charm and beauty over time. Written by Benoit Jutras, this music was is beautifully written and played to perfection on the CD.  "O" by Cirque Du Soleil is Available at Amazon. If you do make it to the show or see it on television, you'll be equally blown away by just how great it is. From start to finish "O" will stay with you - see what you can conjure up with it. Will it be a scene from "O" or will it be something of your own imaginings? Listen and see! It's rare that music is written for something so specific yet has such wonderfully open possibilities!

It brings back a wonderful sense of nostalgia and when gorgeous, sorrowful longing of "Jeux D'Eau" starts playing it will give you tingles all over your body. If you've seen any Cirque du Soleil show, you know the depth and breadth of the performance and how the music is intertwined perfectly into the whole.  I first saw the show at the Bellagio in Las Vegas and the red velvet curtains dropped to reveal the most mesmerizing show I have ever seen on stage - or, in this case, in water.

The story itself is complex yet breathtaking and the wide range of emotions the music evokes only further enhances the sweeping away part. The melodies are mournful, jubilant, and, as ever, magical...

Jessica Simpson’s New Album

Jessica Simpson's newest album, Do You Know will be available in September 2008 and can be preordered from Amazon. Do You Know, Jessica Simpson, September 2008

 About Jessica Simpson

Dance-pop singer Jessica Simpson was born and raised in Dallas, TX, beginning her performing career as a member of her church choir; at 12, she also auditioned unsuccessfully for The Mickey Mouse Club. While attending church camp the following summer, Simpson was discovered by the head of a tiny CCM label and spent the next three years recording her debut album. The label, however, folded before the record could be released, although a small pressing was eventually funded by her grandmother. Nevertheless, the teen became a hit on the Christian Youth Conference circuit, also sharing bills with Kirk Franklin, God's Property, and CeCe Winans.

Seeking to expand her popularity in the secular market, Simpson later signed to Sony and toured in support of boy band sensations 98°. Her 1999 major-label debut, Sweet Kisses, launched the smash "I Wanna Love You Forever." A second studio effort, Irresistible, appeared in spring 2001. Despite the MTV coverage of the album's title track, Simpson's sophomore effort didn't fare as well as her first album. The following year, Simpson married her longtime boyfriend, 98° crooner Nick Lachey. She also went on to appear in several episodes of That '70s Show, but it took Simpson until summer 2003 to become a bona fide celebrity. She and Lachey's MTV-produced reality show, Newlyweds, captured countless moments of the couple's first year of marriage.

Five Years Wise

Today on the Ellen DeGeneris show they re-ran a great show from late 2007 where we were treated to an astounding piano performance by prodigy, Emily Bear who put out her first album, Emily Bear's Album, "Five Years Wise" at age 5. Her latest album is also available called The Love In Us, which is available at her site.

Her playing is wonderful, and she has a gift of music that is enhanced by the fact that she's just plain adorable, personable with an easy smile that only a six-year old could produce. Pianist Emily Bear has only been playing piano for just two years, but at just six years old, her accomplishments are inspiring and her talent is breathtaking. Classical, jazz and boogie come naturally to her. She performs a large list of classics and standards, and also composes her own magical songs.

Sheet Music for "Ellen's Song" is now available at www.musicnotes.com. Proceeds from sales of the sheetmusic will be donated to Breast Cancer Research.

The Goal of Pi

There is a TV show called Cheaters, have you ever heard of it? It is a reality show based in Dallas in which jilted lovers hire a private investigation agency to investigate whether their partner or so-called soul mate is being unfaithful. But do private investigators deal just with wandering lovers? What other jobs does a private eye, inquire about? I will attempt to explain the job and the role of a private detective.

The point of their work is to uncover the truth. If he is to execute his task competently, a private detective must maintain impartiality. Mostly, it is ironic that clients of private detectives do not want the truth, they just want to gain ground. This attitude is alike to the aggressive attitude that some of the clients have in the reality TV show Cheaters. The line of work of a private detective and his agency is to reveal the facts and aid their client.
