Internet Marketing Tools

In a world where anyone can be reached with just the touch of a button or the click of a mouse, it is important to understand the tools of the trade. Am I talking about programming or logics and design? No. I’m talking about selling. How to entice a client to trust your products and services above all the rest. Think of it this way, pretend you’re a door to door salesman. What is the first thing someone will notice about you when they answer the door? What is the first thing you notice about them? It will always be your appearance. How you look and present yourself is the first step in getting in the door so to speak. This is the same basic concept for internet marketing. Your website is your wardrobe. It is the first thing a potential client sees and it sets the tone of the connection.

Internet Marketing Games

November 7, 2008 by admin

Are you a gamer? Do you know if you are a gamer? Here are a couple questions to find out if you are. First, do you ever play any sort of game on your cell phone? Two, do you stop in wal-mart and look at the screens in the electronic section to see what the new games look like? Three , when you go to a new website do you look to see what games they have to offer? If you answered yes to any of these questions and you weren’t sure if you were a gamer then it’s time to come out of the land of denial, you are a gamer. That is, you are a person who loves to play video games.

What does this have to do with marketing? Simple, games make sites more fun. They make phones more fun and last but not least there are millions of people world wide who love to play games. There are sites set up specifically to help you design, create and download your very own unique video game. They are simple and fun to use. I know because I have been toying with it now for a while. In your search engine type in, ‘How to create a video game?’. When you search this you will find several sites dedicated to the gaming world. Some of them will discuss texturing and lighting others will discuss whether or not to create a 3D game. They provide how to add sound and even give locations to free artwork you can use for your characters.

When you are creating a video game you need to think about the demographics of the clients you are trying to reach. For exampled: You have recently decided to create a website to sell the cute clothes you create for your pets. You have named the site Paws Town. You have added a catalog of course and even a blog for people to share about there favorite little four legged friend. There is even a video diary of you and your miniature toy poodle named Dot and your pretty Black lab named Muffy. You have written articles for the site and even been able to get a few advertisers. Yet there is still something missing. Light bulb, you aren’t targeting all the people in your demographic. So you decide to create a video game about the adventures of Dot and Muffy in the Town coincidentally called Paws Town.

Now you maybe asking yourself why all this is important? I’m just selling dog clothes. By creating the video game you have now added several keywords to your website. You have created two marketable characters that you can make into stuffed toys and logos and even add them to the tags of the pet clothes you are selling and label them as originals. All of this brings in revenue.

The point is this, you have added a new marketing tool and sales item to your website. You have found the creative edge in your market and had fun doing it. Remember this though, if you’re creating a video game to break into the business, then this is the wrong article for you. If you’re doing it to have fun with your website and grow your business, then this is the article you want.

Internet Marketing Web Designs

November 6, 2008 by admin

Just about everyone on the planet has heard of MySpace.com. What is My Space and why is it so important to Internet Marketing? Simple, it is a place on the internet that allows regular people like you and me to set up our own website for free. It allows for customization and opinions to be expressed.

Why is this so important to marketing your product? My Space probably averages over a million hits per day by everyday people, everyday clients who just want to connect and let themselves be heard. It also has sponsors who pay to advertise on My Space. Still you’re probably wondering what this has to do with you and what you have to offer.

Simple, when you are creating a website, no matter how business oriented or what your demographics are, you want to make sure that other companies want to advertise on your site as well. If you design your site to just sell your product then you are cutting yourself short.

By now you should be all to familiar with words such as search engines and KEYWORDS. Let’s discuss the designs themselves. Think about the product and or services you are offering. What are the demographics of the clients you are trying to reach? If this is a business offering online services in accounting then you don’t want your website background to be neon pink with floating butterflies.

You will probably lean more towards the reserved. Do you want to tell about your company or the employees? If you choose to discuss your employees make sure you have them sign a release form before adding anything about them.

Maneuverability is one of the most common complaints people will blog about. One common form of easy maneuverability is putting together a table of contents using the JavaScript language. This will allow the surfer to view all the site has to offer then point and click to the linked page. This will also cut down on the number of negative bloggs you may encounter.

Another thing you want to think about is where to put the links. Do you want graphics or text to be used as links. Once again that depends on the type of products and services you are offering. Let’s say for example you are setting up a new Pregnancy online Magazine for expectant Fathers. Why fathers? Because you realize that the male portion of the market is virtually untapped. After all Fathers have just as many worries and concerns as mothers.

Now that you have an idea for a product or service you need to make a list of what you want on the site. The first is articles about the way men feel about…(fill in the blank). The second possibly a blog or guest book set up…Do you want photos and graphics. Next, how to draw the attention of advertisers. Look at different websites that have to do with selling baby items such as diapers, furniture, clothes, safety items and the list can literally go on.

Contact the companies and let them know about the new magazine you have. It’s up to you to sell the site. Remember to believe in what you have and it will work for you.

Internet Marketing Tips

In today’s world it take more than a catch phrase and a good product to ride the marketing wave called the internet. It takes writing. Content is the key ingredient to making sure the people surfing the net will find you. By KEY ingredient I mean keywords. When you are designing your web page you want to make sure there a number of keywords you use in the sight in order for the flow of traffic to meet your expectations. The use of the back door keyword can generate thousands of web tags on a daily basis.

The next thing you should think about doing is hiring an SEO. SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. This person will make sure that all the keywords and underlying mumbo jumbo called programming and contract languages are maneuvered through with ample degrees of success. After all it is the SEO’s job to make sure the website actually receives hits from surfers. The more hits it receives the better off you and the SEO are. Organic SEO are good keywords to use in your search for an SEO; or just simply type in SEO.

Perhaps one of the most important things to think about in the planning stages of your website is the TITLE. The title page should contain at least one of your major keywords. Think about it like this. Most people don’t pick up a book without a catchy title. Would you in all honesty pick up a book entitled “Cooking for Adults” or would you be more apt to picking up a book called “The Art of Sensual Cooking” ? Though they would both have the same exact content, the latter is more likely to be bought than the first. The same goes for the title of your web page. Remember you want people to want to come to your site.

Now lets talk searching. Enquireoresearch.com is a survey company that performed a study called “The Role of Search in Business to Business Buying Decisions”. They surveyed approximately 1500 participants. One of the most important was from a portioned entitled “Inside the Mind of the Searcher” in which it states that men and women differ in their searches. However both genders were more likely to use a search engine. Another finding in this portion was that placement was key to the page receiving hits. This is just another reason why keywords are so very important in designing your website.
One way to tweak your keywords and your search engine is to do a pay per click through the search engine. Pay per click is an arrangement made through the search engine where you will pay the engine anywhere from $.01 and up for each click on the website. This will allow you to track the ratio of the number of searches you are receiving versus the number of sales. Remember the balancing act is done in the KEYWORD search. So in essence your tracking all movement to and from your site.

There are a number of tips available on sites such as Marketing Titan.com and Enquiroreasearch.com. Each of these websites has great information and tips to ensure your site is surfed the most.

Television and Internet Marketing

ABC. CBS. NBC. SCIFI. FOX. What do all these stations have in common? Aside from being television stations, they also all have a website. Each website has to do with the stations and all the programs they offer. There is another thing in common, they are a standard place for major companies to advertise. For example ABC allows full episodes of everyone’s favorite line up to be viewed with little commercial interruptions. You can pull up a site click what you want to watch and there you go. You can’t escape the commercials though. They are added during a break in the guise of a buffering program that will keep the episode running smoothly.

So what is the cost for venders to advertise on such sites? Some websites like ABC for example have set costs for Banners at $15.00 Net CPM’s and streaming video adds are $35.00. That means that ABC gets paid $35.00 every time the add runs. Since websites are a 24 hour 7 day a week enterprise, this literally adds up to millions a year brought in by advertising on the web.

Each website has a set of guide lines the advertiser must adhere to. For example here are a few of the guidelines many of the sites have in common:

What Blog Carnivals and Memes do You Participate In?

November 3, 2008 by IM Buzzter

A year or two back ‘blog carnivals’ were all the rage as a way to put yourself out there and promote your blog. I know that they still exist and many bloggers still get into them - but I’m wondering how many bloggers use them these days? For those not familiar with the concept - a blog carnival is an event where a group of bloggers all blog on a certain blog topic and where those posts are all listed in a central place (which is usually promoted by all those participating)
