A year or two back ‘blog carnivals’ were all the rage as a way to put yourself out there and promote your blog. I know that they still exist and many bloggers still get into them - but I’m wondering how many bloggers use them these days? For those not familiar with the concept - a blog carnival is an event where a group of bloggers all blog on a certain blog topic and where those posts are all listed in a central place (which is usually promoted by all those participating)

Here’s a cool little blogging tool to help spread news of your blog posts from readers to their networks of friends via email, social networks, instant messaging and their blogs - it’s called TellaFriend . Earlier in the week I offered ProBlogger readers signing up for the BlogMastermind Blog Mentoring program the chance to win a Flip video camera and 5 ProBlogger books. The 48 hour window to win is up and the winners (selected randomly) are: Winner of Flip Video Camera (I just bought one for myself too) - Becky Carroll Winners of the ProBlogger books - Rebecca Jones, Michael Singer, Paul Ermisc, Karyn Fleeting and Thomas J Stacey. A special thanks to Marcus Chavers who won the book but asked for me to share the love and for it to be given to another person as he already had a copy (Thomas, you owe Marcus a beer)

Talking Blog Networks

There has been ALOT of talk around the blogosphere about blog networks lately - ALOT! Some of it is as a result of the closing of the Know More Media blog network, some of it as a result of AOL and Gawker making changes to the way their networks pay bloggers and some of it is…. well…. just because every six or so months there seems to be talk about blog networks.
